Costs of TheraDoc Certified Health IT
Capability Description of Capability Costs or Fees
Transmission to public health agencies – electronic case reporting
170.315(f)(5)
This capability supports the creation and electronic transmission of case reports that comply with eCR version standards as supported by the eCR Now Fast Health Interoperability Resources (FHIR) application. Additional fees are required for the implementation of TheraDoc Electronic Case Reporting (eCR). These include a mix of recurring annual feature/functionality costs, training and support costs, and one-time costs associated with data acquisition to meet the reporting requirements. There may be additional fees to receive, evaluate, and report additional data components as federal eCR reporting requirements change over time.

No additional software requirements, contracts, or third-party engagements are needed to use TheraDoc eCR functionality.

Transmission to public health agencies – antimicrobial use and resistance reporting
170.315(f)(6)
This capability supports the creation and electronic reporting of the following reports to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN):

  • Antimicrobial Use and Resistance (AUR) Antimicrobial Resistance Option (ARO) Report (Numerator)
  • Antimicrobial Resistance Option (ARO) Summary Report (Denominator)
  • Antimicrobial Use (AUP) Summary Report
Additional costs may be required to implement TheraDoc Antimicrobial Use and Resistance (AUR) Reporting functionality, depending on the current scope of contracted solutions. The costs are specifically tied to implementation fees for data-enabled functionality. There may be additional fees for compliance purposes as additional regulations are released in the future.

No additional software requirements, contracts, or third-party engagements are needed to use TheraDoc AUR functionality.

Standards Version Advancement Process (SVAP) Notice

Under the SVAP, the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health IT allows vendors to voluntarily update certified health IT products to use more advanced versions of standards than are adopted in ONC Certification Criteria for Health IT. For its certified NHSN AUR Antimicrobial Use and Resistance (AUR) functionality, TheraDoc remains compliant with the CDA versions supported by NHSN in conjunction with the following SVAP-approved standards:

CDA SVAP-Approved Standard
Antimicrobial Use and Resistance (AUR) Antimicrobial Resistance Option (ARO) Report (Numerator) HL7® CDA® R2 Implementation Guide: Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) Reports, Release 3 – US Realm, December 2020
Antimicrobial Resistance Option (ARO) Summary Report (Denominator) HL7® CDA® R2 Implementation Guide: Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) Reports, Release 3 – US Realm, December 2020
Antimicrobial Use (AUP) Summary Report (Numerator and Denominator) Health Level 7 (HL7®) Implementation Guide for CDA® Release 2 – Level 3: Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) Reports, Release 1, U.S. Realm, August 2013

Because the AUR CDA versions supported in TheraDoc align with year-specific NHSN reporting requirements, the CDA version updates will not affect real-world interoperability for AUR reporting.
